Voice up!

Ever been participating in a voice conference? OK, that’s an old hat, you might say. Yes, before I found my new job in creating Second Life® (lol™) content, I’ve been the admin of a huge Cisco training company here in Germany. And somehow they invented all that stuff. Or so. Cisco, not my company. Or whatever. I took a CIPT (Implementing Cisco IP Telephony) course, had one of the coolest phones on my desk, complete with phat color LCD screen with Anime neko pix as background and all… As seen on TV. Those were the days. *sigh* Anyway, my first working phone conference was with Skype.

(With the term “working” being defined as: You don’t need to know the NATO alphabet or some fancy CB knowledge/ behaviour to understand eachother.)

AWG2 Meeting

Ever been participating in a voice conference with 50 members? A working one? btdt. Emzy, tx and yours sincerely were invited to the 2nd Architecture Workinggroup Meeting, recently. Main agenda items were authenticating and sharing data inter-grid-wise. Tao Takashi has more info on that, he’s involved in the project. I just want to use it, when it’s ready, harhar^^ Anyway, for me it was most amazing, to see and hear a up to 60 people voice conference happen and function. It really works, and it can only happen in Second LifeTickleMe, since you need a visual trigger, a person to look at, a fancy avatar, to differentiate between x0 talking persons.

Oh talking about fancy avatars… The price for the cutest Linden goes to: *drum roll* Leyla Linden®! Ain’t she sweet? :-)
